In this recipe, the chicken is prepared in three main steps. First, the chicken breasts are marinated for at least 2-3 hours. Then, the marinated chicken is then grilled for 12-15 minutes total. Finally, once the parmesan cheese is added, the chicken is placed under the broiler until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Delicious things come to those who wait! For more cooking information, be sure to check out the full recipe.
However, if you do decide to actually bake this chicken recipe, you can expect that it will take about 30 minutes of cooking time.
How many calories are in Longhorn's Parmesan crusted chicken?
According to the restaurant, the "lighther portion" (9 oz) of the Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast from Longhorn Steakhouse contains 650 calories. A full portion of the chicken, on the other hand, will contain 1,120 calories. The beauty of copycat recipes like this is that you have the potential to cut back on some of those calories by using fewer or fresher ingredients!
Can you bake chicken with panko breading?
Of course! This recipe calls for a layer of extra crunchy panko bread crumbs (like Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs 2 Pound Box) for a perfectly crispy chicken that will have your mouth watering. For more ingredients, be sure to check out the full recipe.
How do you get panko bread crumbs to stick?
Fortunately, this recipe simply calls for the panko bread crumbs to be sprinkled on top of the chicken, so you don't have to worry about covering the whole breast in crumbly panko pieces! The panko bread crumbs are also mixed with melted butter and more Parmesan cheese, which helps make them more sticky. For more cooking information, be sure to check out the full recipe.
Otherwise, if you wish for the whole chicken to be covered, you can dip each breast in egg until coated, letting the excess drip off and then dipping the chicken in the panko mixture.

I love chicken dishes and this is certainly one I want to try. The step-by-step photos are very helpful in showing the recipe process, but there's a discrepancy. The photos show a layer of mozzarella or provolone cheese between the ranch dressing layer and the layer of panko bread crumbs, but those aren't mentioned in the written recipe. I'd definitely include the additional layer of mozzarella or provolone because you can never go wrong with an extra layer of cheese.
