Bloomin' onions are a guilty pleasure of mine. They're SO GOOD. I like that this is a slightly healthier addiction. It makes me sleep more comfortably at night, knowing that the gargantuan blooming onion I just devoured wasn't as bad as the fried one I had before. Baby steps. Om nom nom nom nom nom.

I've never tries a bloomin onion before, in a restaurant but have always wanted to, so now I'm excited that I can try this at home! It always seemed like it would be so complicated but this recipe was great, with pictures along the way which made it easier to understand the steps. I like that this recipe is baked and not fried, which makes it a little less indulgent! I was also happy to read that these can be made with regular yellow onions too. I always thought you needed to use Vidalia onions, which can be quite pricey and sometimes hard to find. I can't wait to try this!

I was hoping to hear good reviews about this recipe, looked sounded so delicious! Did it not taste good, or was it just too difficult and time consuming to make? I don't have much experience making fried foods, so I was a little weary of trying this recipe, do you have to use a fryer to complete this recipe?
