Copycat DQ Strawberry Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cup sugar
- 4 pounds strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/2 lemon, juiced

Add the sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice to a large pot on low heat. Stir well. The strawberries will start to lose their moisture, but no need to add water.

Continue cooking for about 15 min. Let the sauce cool.

Remove a third of the sauce and blend in a blender. Return to the rest of the sauce.

Pour into jars and refrigerate.
