This is such a savory comfort food! Trisha makes food my family likes. I used to watch her cooking show when I had cable, and in addition to having good recipes, she's so friendly and down home. I grew up eating creamed chipped beef, but nobody seems to make it nowadays in their contemporary repertoire or dishes. I guess I'm showing my age! My dad, who was in the Korean war, said it was regularly served in the army and he had a less than glowing name for it that the soldiers would call it, so he was sick of eating it. My brother and I weren't! My aunt used to make it for us every Saturday when I went over to visit and play kick the can outside with m y 6 cousins. Creamed chipped beef on toast is a comfort food indulgence that I make just for myself sometimes.
